Time & Talents

Mark 12:41-44

– And He (Jesus) sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.”

At Hillcrest Church, we believe in giving as a spiritual discipline. Not simply for the maintenance of the church property, staff, and programs, but as one way that we can move closer to God.

As believers in Christ, we give out of the love in our hearts because of the abundance that God has blessed us with. It’s not about “paying dues” by contributing exactly 10% of our income. It’s about becoming more and more generous and supporting the activities of our congregation as we seek to join in where God is working in the world. In this way, we continue to strive to be a beacon for Christ in the heart of Monroeville, the United States, and the World.

We collect offerings during worship services, and we can accept automatic checks sent to the church address: 1622 James St., Monroeville, PA 15146.
